Hi there,

I am a single mum who was offered a housing assosication house 3 years ago as i was out of work and couldnt afford private rent.
I lived there quiet happily for the first year and during that time my parents put about 10k into upgrading the house as i received it in very bad condition. I have since paid them back.

For almost the last two years my family has been the aim of a bullying campaign by some other tennants of the same landlord/housing assosiation. My family have been beaten up and threatened, there have been court cases and death threats made against me and some of my friends and family. My daughters can no longer go out to play, I am a prisoner in my own home. My landlord has taken a very cowardly approach to the whole situation and has left me feeling desperate and scared. this girl only lives one door down from me. There is alot more to the story but i would be here all day if id to go through it all.

I have a fantastic job now and have just put a deposit on my own home. My landlord has now more than tripled my rent! the highest anybody in these houses has ever paid. He has done nothing to help me at all. I have been advised not to pay the rent. I am leaving the house because I have been bullied and scared out of it, the 10k worth of kitchen, wardrobes and bathroom that were put into the house only 2years ago are going to be left there. My question is where do i stand on telling my landlord to Keep these items in lieu of the rent i owe. I will be leaving in approx 4 weeks and my arrears will stand at about 1500e then the things that were put into the house in good faith that i would be safe there for the rest of my life cost 10k in total.

Any advise on this would be most helpful.

Thank you
