House Underpinning Proof

We are selling my deceased parents house.

The house was underpinned about 20 years ago.

There is no documentation anywhere to prove this.

I am experiencing difficulty obtaining proof from the Insurance company as they have changed underwriters etc.

Is it possible to send out a structural engineer who will give us a certificate to say it was underpinned?

Thanks for advice in advance.

I can't see any Structural Engineer providing you with a certificate for work that they did not supervise.

Totally agree here. A recent house purchase saw us chasing the original contractor who done the underpinning to the property so that the house insurance could be provided. This was for a job that was done years ago and we had to wait a few days for him dig out the contracts.
