House sale

I accepted an offer on my house 5th December, the structural report was done on 6th January...just wondering what happened next. Our solictor said the sale should be completed be the first week in Febuary!

My question is, when the contracts are completed how long to we have before we have to be out of our house, is there set period or is that decided upon by ourselves and vendor!!!!

Generally you would close the sale around 6 weeks to 2 months after the sale has been agreed. If you are purchasing another house, you would usually tie the two closing dates in together so you, as the Vendor, can name the closing date.
