Council just refused a house we've been waiting six weeks for them to survey. Don't know any details, as yet, about their survey.
Does anyone know if a council will review a property if we can get the owner to do some work on it?
Or if it's refused then is that it?
I am now in the same position as you - after 7mths the council has turned down the hse. It has to do with a 6x6ft scullery with flat roof although it is planning permission compliant ie exempt it didnt meet the building regulations- obviously as its about 50yrs old! The building inspector was on holidays, then solictor was on holidays, then Id to wait for the vendor to send architect certs etc.
Im frustrated at the moment as its just dragged on & on. The solictor just advised that council "are not willing to proceed" and that was it:mad:
The hse is back up on daft today.
I rang council and I was told nothing they can do - its been refused so Ive to pick another hse within 2wks coz my approval runs out and they will tfr deposit to new hse. However Im liable for the solicitor fees for work on 1st hse too - this will be added to cost of new hse fees. If my approval expires I can reapply for another 6mths but they cant guarantee I'd get same amt.
