House purchase - approx legal fee costs?

Hi All,

Looking for an approximate/ball park figure for legal fees for purchase of house?

Lots of solicitors doing a fee of €1,000 +VAT + Outlay.

Paid about €1,800 when i bought my house ( Dublin ) 6 years ago.
Paid €1,650 for mortgage switching last October.
 
My legal fees after VAT recently were 1600 but 2400 after outlays. Don't forget that stamp duty still exists at 1% which is not included above.
 
We're currently paying €5k plus costs :oops:

It's not a standard purchase though so they've had to do some work.
 
First house purchase solicitor total came to ~€2k.
On mortgage switch a couple years later, the total paid was ~€1.2k
 
1k is low. 1.5k about average. 5k outrageous unless there was something seriously wrong.
