Just got renewal from Allianz: €485.

So, rang around for some quotes, best I could get: Zurich €260.

Same policy, went through it in detail with Zurich rep on the phone, to compare to existing Allianz policy.

For typical 3 bed semi.

I'm shocked to say the least, shop around!!

Try getcover.com. I found them to be over €100 cheaper than 123.ie this year.

Swings and roundabouts IME. In general it always pays to shop around but particularly in the case of car & house insurance. Fluctuates all the time as far as I can see. Cheapest this year will not necessarily be the cheapest next year and vice versa.

I changed from 123 to getcover as well this year. Saved €200.

However, you need to read the terms of these policies first. There is a big difference between some of them when you look at the terms and conditions.

Problem with insure .ie is that if you need to do anything that is not straight forward like add something to the policy etc.. you have to speak to them. This is not really that easy I found, so went with Zurich instead. With Zurich, you can do it all on line..
