Hi,

We've bought a house that is perfectly livable but we want to extend it, so we wont be moving in for about 12 months (by the time we have planning and the work is done). Do we need to get special house ins since we wont be living in the house?

Thanks

Re: House Ins

doing exactly the same, you will need to get building cover, but most likely not contents. You will have to disclose to your insurer that you will not be living there as policies have restrictions about absence periods etc.

Also if you have financed by mortgage then you need some level of insurance cover incase the house burns/falls down etc.
