Hi all,
I'm just a newbie to the site and am in the following situation:
We have been trying to sell our house for around 8 months and had a couple of buyers pull out on us. Recently we've been approached by a Developer to upgrade our house to a new house in a new development, with our current house as part of the exchange. I've heard of this happening in the UK but not really in Ireland. We're getting a good deal and a much nicer, bigger house.
Question: The auctioneer hired by them to sell the new houses is trying to claim that he found a buyer for us and thus trying to win his commission from us. Are we obliged to pay him his fee eventhough they approached us? We were trying to sell it alone on Daft and have no contract etc with him.
Anyone have any ideas? We're in the West of Ireland.
Thanks
