The company I work for has been looking for redundancies since Dec but only came up with which areas they wanted individuals to come from last week!!! It looks like compulsary redundancies will happen before August.
After the dust settles and people leave we will be left with approx 75 people in the entire factory.

50 hourly paid:25 staff

Out of this we will have 3 supervisors over 40 people, 3 managers over 3 fitters, 3 electricians and 3 toolmakers.

We will have 7 senior managers over around 60 people.

Seems the ratio of staff to HP is very high considering 28 HP will be left go, 5 staff and 2 toolmakers.

My question is what is the normal ratio of HP:Staff in your place of work?

Thanks,

Nicky

Presuming the compnay is trying to survive, and hourly staff are semi-skilled and readily available, I would think it is normal to keep as many of the management and supervisors as possible to enable the quick restaffing and bringing up to speed the process during the climb out of recession.
