hotels on normandy coast

I wonder if anyone has any recommendations for a hotel on the normandy coast, close to the d-day beaches. Also who is the best car hire company in france

I would recommend basing yourself in Caen as this makes for a good base to explore the beaches and other historical sites associated with WW2.
Check out [broken link removed] for the tourist office and hotels etc.. and www.franceguide.com fof general info on Normandy. If you are going around the beginning of June you might find it hard to secure accommodation and indeed this area is popular year round so book well in advance! If you can give me an idea of your price range I can pass on some hotels.

thanks for your reply, our budget is about the €100 per night for a family room. We are looking to stay 2 nights around the beach areas and then one night around or on (if possible) mont st michel. We then go down to the loire valley where we have booked a campsite.
