Just wondering if any of u have stayed here in recent times?
Heading to NY in Nov four nights in Hotel Penn. The way we looked at it was NY is so hectic anyhow that we would be spending very little time in the Hotel. Once its clean and you can shower thats all we need. So to we did not splash out much on the Accommodation side of the trip cos we figured we would prefer to have the money for shopping....... Its about 5 years since we have been in NY but back then the Penn Hotel was ok > The reviews of late have been poor. Anyone been there recently??

Location is great. Long queues at check-in / check –out. Basic rooms are OK, but our bathroom could have done with an upgrade. When you are leaving if you wish to leave luggage in the left luggage arrange this at the checkout; otherwise the guy at the left luggage insists on charging you. Also get this, you are not supposed to bring booze back to your room. There is a sign to this effect and a security guard beside the lifts asks to inspect your bags.
