Hi

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in or around the Oxford Street (5 mins walkish) area of London. Going for 3 nights next weekend. Around £150/€200 per night would be the budget.

4*+ if possible!!

Thanks

I recently booked a hotel through

For next weekend booked one of their "Top Secret" hotels for £63 per night. Turned out to be the Hilton Paddington. Hotel web site rates were about £200. Hotel description was something like 4* Art Deco style near Paddington Station. They had a few other deals like this. You are buying blind using the "Top Secret" option but sometimes from the reviews you can get a good idea what the actual hotel is.

Another site I've used is http://www.hotwire.com/ thought not for London. http://www.betterbidding.com/ has some help identifying hotels.

Check out the weeekend saver. Myslef and Mrs Squonk have stayed here a few times ...nice. Harrods is 10 minutes walk away, the tube is outside the door! Its 4*

I stayed at the Clifton Ford hotel a few times - its a 4* Jury's hotel five minutes from Oxford St - nearest tube is Bond St.

I stayed in a hotel called the St. Giles a few years ago. It is just around the corner from Tottenham Court Road tube station which is at the bottom of Oxford St. You couldn't get must closer. I don't think it is a 4* but it was a nice hotel.

Ballyman try this website http://www.oxfordstreethotels.com/ has a map that shows all the hotels on / near oxford street ranging from 2* up to 5* and the train stations. I was born and lived in London until a couple of years ago, so if you need any more info just ask. I went back last year for a weekend and stayed in the Thistle Marble Arch 4* and it is lovely hotel and in a great location (shops, transport etc), some rooms look directly onto Oxford Street and there was a good pub just around the corner!

Thanks

I've booked the Thistle Marble Arch. Reviews are fine on tripadvisor so should be ok.
