Hotel charged for FreePhone Number Call

Is a hotel allowed to charge you for making a call to a FreePhone number from your hotel room?

If it's clearly stated in the list of phone charges , then yes....

I was in USA a few years ago and I rang 11 'free' phone numbers to book hotels in the our next destination and was subsequently charged $2 per call and so $22 was added to the bill.

The small print was pointed out to me afterwards.
