I have found Hotels.com to be more expensive than others. Like all hotel websites you need to play one off against the other as each can have special rates at different times. I have also found that in the shoulder seasons if you contact the hotel directly they can have their own special offers, cheaper again. Also check Tripadvisor for reviews of the hotel and Venere.com for good location maps.
