hi there,
I am spending 1 night in hong kong. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced hotel near the airport. I will have to be there at 7 am so sont want a long commute.

the train from the airport to Hong Kong is only 23 mins and they are very regular so you might as well get a Hotel in HK
 
thanks for that. It's just that I have to be there at 630 am and thought if it just 5 mins in a cab its better than getting taxi from hotel to train station, waiting for train, and then the journey to the airport.

The Hotel Novotel Citygate is 5 minutes from the airport and about 30 minutes by MTR (metro) into central Hong Kong. It is clean, modern affordable and connected to a large shopping centre.

Check the hotel reviews on tripadvisor also the forum for travel and weather advice.
