Hi, could anyone tell me.... when purchasing a new property and signing contracts, homebond etc at solicitors office...once the Homebond document is signed does the solicitor have do to anything further with this, i.e is this the original document or does solicitor have to send this away to get an original for the bank, or is the document signed the original for the bank? (sorry for the non tech terms but i'm talking about the glossy front A4 type booklet). does this make sense to anyone?!
Thanks

A HB47 certificate is what you need here as far as I know. Your solicitor should know this!

Thanks Clubman as always for the prompt response, i'm sure solicitor does know but i'm trying to find out myself for different reasons!
So my query is ... is the document I signed the original for the bank or do solicitors have to send the signed document to somewhere to obtain a different "original doc" that the lending institution require?

I don't know. You should be asking your solicitor these questions. If you won't/can't for some reason then perhaps you should get another solicitor?

You would have signed the Agreement only. The HB47 is a separate form the original or copy of which goes to the bank.

sometimes when contracts are sent only a copy of the HB47 HB71 are sent with the booklet and then you sign the booklet and then it is sent back with the Contracts when signed. The builder then signs the booklet and the Solicitors sends back original HB47 and booklet signed with the contracts. THe bank needs the original HB47 before you can draw down funds on a new built property only.
