Home security system with cameras

Anyone got any ideas for setting up a home security system with cameras. I know you can get kits in B&Q for a camera and you can route the signal to a monitor. Id like to be able to (pref wirelessly) route the signal to a hard disk and maybe even have access to the signal via web.

I think Linksys and maybe some of the other manufacturers do them too.
 
Just to add, we looked at two houses when we were buying last year that had these cameras installed. Lovely houses, but we just went "No way, they must have serious security issues"...

just something to consider...
 
a wired kit including 4 cameras,digital recorder and web access capability cost bout 2 grand
 
Remember these things run 24 X 7.

Some systems are power hungry and so expensive ( in the context of a private house ) to run.
