Home repair grant and death

Hi,

my mum died last Friday having previously been awarded a grant from the county council to do repairs on the roof. The terms and conditions she signed stipulated that once the the job is completed within a certain timeframe and up to an accepted standard that the grant would be issued. So what i'm wondering is whether or not the grant would still be issued. The roof is 50 percent completed and will be be done within the outlined period of time. Does her death negate all of the above and make the grant null and void. Any help appreciated.

Firstly, my sympathies for your loss.

I can not say for sure, but my mother was on a program for OAP's with her local council to have her attic insulated, at no cost to her. She passed away the week before the man was supposed to come and do it. When he showed up to do the work, no one was home. Neighbours told him what happened and he just left. When my brother (the executor of her estate) called to see if we could reschedule the job, we were told her estate did not qualify for it as the new owners of the home (me) was not an OAP. Give them a call. You may be in a different situation. Seeing as the work is already half done, I can't see how they would say no.
