My retail business in Ireland closed in 2007 and at that time I moved to the U.K. My job in the UK is finished at the end of Feb and we plan to return home to Ireland. I have had an offer of work in Ireland for a month and I will then be looking for work.
If I don’t find work am I entitled to apply for jobseekers benefit. In other words can I bring my stamps from the UK and use them towards benefit. Any advice would be appreciated.
if you claim Jobseeker's before you leave UK you can transfer up to 78 days benefit at UK rate to Ireland, as long as you arrange it before you come here. To claim JB in Ireland, you must have last worked here for at least 1 week. Otherwise, you can claim JA which is means tested. See keypost re that.
