I've just seen a magazine in the shops totally devoted to your child's first Holy Communion (and no, not a religious magazine ). I thought all this madness and over the top stuff had died down in the past year. Obviously not.
I know, that's my point. There's obviously still loads of people out there still buying into the whole keeping up with the Joneses, massive party, marquee in the garden, hugely expensive dress, week of sunbed treatments kind of thing. I'm just surprised as I really thought that market had collapsed and we'd be reverting back to a family lunch and a tour of the relatives. Apparently not, though.
