Garda station at end of road, DART station, bus stops, shops, close to town, 20 minute walk to Croke Park, close to promenade, Fairview Park, a cul-de-sac with no through traffic ..

Apart from all of that, it has nothing to recommend it :D ! Well, maybe some noise from the train line.
 
Tarfhead, thanks for your concise summary. We didnt like the house we went to see there unfortunately but thanks anyway.
