Looking to book a holiday home for a week in July somewhere in Ireland, we've done the south and west before so are thinking about heading to NI. 2 adults and 2 kids (3 & 6) so looking for nice accommodation and preferably near the beach. Anyone any recommendation of where to go or not to go...

Portrush/Portstewart on the North Coast. Brilliant for kids, loads of amusements, games, funfairs. You probably have the best selection of beaches in the whole of the North within a couple of miles of each other.
Water temperature benefits from the gulf stream flowing into it unlike the east coast. There should be loads of accomodation available

Plenty for adults to do also.

Newcastle . plenty of forest walks nearby ( tollymore forest park) golf, funfairs and outdoor swimming pool . nice beach (though not as nice as ones in Donegal). Silent Valley nearby. dont go around 12th July though as its packed.

portstewart, wouldnt recmmend portrush-a wee bit secterian-spent a yr there. donegal is great.

thanks for your replies, I have been to Donegal before so wanted to try something different. I'll have a look at portstewart and see whats available
