holidaying options for egypt next feburary

i am getting married next feburary and hope to go to egypt on honeymoon. does anyone know of any holiday providers with which i can be based in luxor and spend a day or 2 in cairo? would abu simbel be a possibilty also? any help would be greatly appreciated...

Don't know whether this would be really suitable for a honeymoon, but that would be up to you.

There are several tour companies out there which do tours of Egypt, covering Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, usually. Abu Simbel is usually an extra option as a day trip when in Aswan but definitely well worth it; my highlight of Egypt.

I travelled with On The Go when I was in Egypt earlier in the year. Was a really good trip, an excellent guide but 38 people on the tour was far too much in my opinion.

I have also travelled with GAP in the past (not in Egypt), their groups are usually limited to 12-16; also excellent trips and guides.

You could consider doing your own thing and organising travel around Egypt independantly but due to the security restrictions you are fairly limited in what you can do. For example you can't take normal public buses between cities nor can you drive your car between cities without a police escort.

You should have a look at Staying in Aswan esp if you want to go to Abu Simbel. Its a much nicer city than Luxor and you could hire a felucca and sail to Luxor-Intrepid do some luxury trips to Egypt that looked great too
