Holiday to Morocco

Thinking of going to Morocco independently, flying to Malaga, spend a few days there first, then ferry to Tanger, all in all about 10 days in Morocco. Is it possibleto get around Morocco easily(buses and trins), any ideas of where to go in the country( beaches/resorts/cities/Atlas mountains). Would car hire be an option? What is safety like in Morocco.

just back from agadir, it's on the coast resort loke place

stayed in the Oasis lovely place, was eating out and found it good value € 30 for meal for 2 including 2 bottles wine

marrakesh is 4 hours away

I travelled independently for 2 weeks in Morocco 10 years ago and would never darken the gates of the country again. Its a nice country but a large cross-section of the people I met were horrible. I have travelled independently in a number of third world countries and in some of the wilder parts of Eastern Europe and Morocco is the only place I would never return to.

Don't even think of driving a car there as their roads and road safety standards are appalling.
