As far as I am aware, refusing insurance solely on the basis of age conflicts with anti-discriminatory legislation (in this case ageism). However, they may require a greater premium or curtail some of the cover offered. I had this issue a few years ago when I was taking my mother of 80+ to France for a week. Europ Assist initially refused to cover her but later did so after a very comprehensive medical form was filled out. I couldn't beleive the level of detail of some of the questions. We had the same issue the next year when they severly curtailed the cover available. It seems like insurance companies determine what's most likely to actually happen to you and than withdraw cover for that..... Just ranting a little now..... One final thing - the Europ Assist slogan is "with you all the way". I found that really ironic as in this case it was NOT QUITE all the way.....
