Holiday in Jersey - advice on where to stay

thinking of going to jersey during the summer. Looking for advice as to where to stay eg in St hellier or in one of the outlying towns.
Any advice would be appreciated

Still looking for advice here - is it better to stay in St Hellier or would one of the other areas be better. Won't have a car and would be statying for about a week so would be looking for somwhere near good public transport.
 
Hotel de France; good hotel, but a bit pricy maybe. Has a good spa (MrsK tells me) Close to the harbour in St Helier. and walking distance to the shops.

Very close to the bus depot, so transport round the island shouldn't be a problem.
 
Stay in St. Helier. It where most things happen.Also remember how small the island is. It won't take long to get around it all, even in a bus. We did a good part of it on bikes last summer !!

Some of the outlying towns are very small and quiet.
