Hi all
Would very much appreciate help with the following:
My Mrs and I are travelling to Australia for nearly 3 wks soon. I have a budget of €2300 for myself for the 3 weeks (accom. and flights have been paid for a while back). What is the most cost effective & secure way to manage the cash while down there? I can carry a few hundred euros worth of Oz dollars with me, but as for the rest I suppose I can either
1. put €2k equivalent in travellers cheques and use them as and when required - but are the charges for these quite high?
2. put €2k equivalent in my visa card and use this on holiday -but my concerns with this are
would the exchange rate be very expensive
would it cost me a high transaction fee every time I withdraw cash - even though my visa card is in credit
would there be an extra visa charge on every credit card purchase transaction because it will be outside the € zone?
