Hive Home - switching from Bord Gais to Energia

Hi
I have Bord Gais duel-fuel at the moment, and want to switch to Energia
However, I have HIVE from Bord Gais and rely on it a lot, and am unsure if I will need to pay a monthly subscription to HIVE if I switch away from BG?

Anyone know if HIVE will not work AFTER I switch to Energia?

Anyone know if HIVE requires a monthly subscription if I switch from Bord Gais to Energia to keep working?

They are not connected. The Hive setup will work no matter who you get your supply from. There is no Subscription charge with Hive at the moment for the service.
 
You could always ring Bord Gais and tell them you are switching - they will probably meet the terms offered by Energia :)

I tried that, BG weren't interested, and only offered a poor retention discount... I was actually surprised at how poor the offer was (the energy market seems to be getting more and more like the car insurance market, every year :()

I've since moved to Energia...
