One of my friend was cycling back home and end up in a ditch and broke her ankle because of a car who overtake another one and did not see her. No one stop to check if she was ok, luckily she had her mobile and rang her husband to pick her up, she also rang the guarda straight away to report the car for careless driving but because she did not have the full registration number only part of it they told her they could do nothing. She ended up being out of work for 10 weeks as doc refuse to sign the back to work document until the cast was off. She was lucky to have insurance to cover the time she was off work but now she is wondering if she hadn't had insurance could she have been able to put a claim somewhere else since the accident was caused by a careless driver who did not stop and therefore wasn't her fault?
