hiring jcb to excavate small area

i am preparing a six metre by six metre area for concreting....could anyone tell me roughly how much it would cost me to get a digger in to remove garden soil from the above size area...i live in the south dublin area just off belgard road...

more expensive than it would be to buy a shovel, bit of old fashion elbow grease will have it done in no time...

I doubt you'll be wanting a jcb, but instead you'll want one of the smaller, ride on diggers. you could hire someone to control it and do the digging or could try do it yourself, though it can take a bit of getting used to.

ring around a few hire places for prices....seem to recall them being about €400 per week.
