Hi,
We're getting an extension done next month and had asked for a hipped roof, we're now thinking, having seen everyone else who have done an extension in the estate that they all went for a pitched roof, think the area size will make a hipped roof look funny as it will be a narrow extension but too big for a leanto type roof.... should the price go up/down or stay the same?

Any ideas?
Thanks

Sorry i dont quite understand what you are asking, is it a pitched roof with a gable end as opposed to a pitched roof with a hipped end?

Hi CD2005,

A hipped roof will definitely be the more expensive option. There is a lot more work and timber needed for this type of roof and that is probably why most of your neighbours have gone for the pitched type. Even if it is a narrow extension a hipped roof should still be okay!
