Help with Self Build Mortgage question

Hi Folks,

Im a first time buyer hoping to purchase a house with my partner. The property is a partially build house on a site. So the mortgage that im requesting is one to cover the cost of the partially built house on site and the cost to complete the building work.

I assumed that i could obtain this from any bank. I spoke to two banks who both told me they dont have this type of mortgage. Am i seeking the correct type of mortgage?

Construction work completed to date is blocklaying, roofed and plastered outside.

the bank will put a price on what is there to date. they may even consider it a site!


you will need to work out how much to finish it, be carfull here, id say only 1/3 of the building costs might hve been spent todate.

the bank will put a valuation on what the completed house will come too.

go back in and look for a self build mortage
