I have to get my taxes done for 2006 , 07 and 08 (..yeah.. I know... ) ,
normal PAYE employee, but have to hand in a tax return for self-employed as I sold some share option during these years.
Got all the paperwork (invoices for refuse, medical and whatnot) in order and ready to hand over,

I'm currently mad busy with working overtime and want to get that done here
locally but they quote me 789.75 euro (650 ex vat) Euro for it.

Is that normal ? Excuse my ignorance, but sounds a tad expensive, even
if they are qualified accountants

Would really appreciate some pointers here. Really want to get that stuff sorted, but don't want to be taken for a ride. Had enough of that already from the government, really.

Thanks

Don't pay silly money for paye tax returns .

Share options are easy - you should have already paid over the tax due , when you exercised your option .

You should already have your receipt from Revenue for tax paid on option, and you may also have a copy of letter from your employer outlining the no. of options , plus date exercised etc .

Send in your tax returns by Oct 31st ( very important or you will be charged for late arrival. ) They add a surcharge for submission of late returns .

When you receive your paye balancing statement , you can ask more questions here , if you feel you need advice .

I personally cannot see , what you have to gain , by paying an accountant ridiculous money for paye tax returns .
