Hi,
A bit of a detailed and complicated one!
I am unemployed (Made redundant in 2010) after I was let go I got full rate social welfare. My partner was then let go and found another job 2 days a week and was recieving social welfare for the other 3 days.
I was then means tested and was cut to €90 a week - We survived with only 1 child at the time. Then the bomb shell - We got two letters in the door last year that we were both being cut off social welfare as we were 0.70c (SEVENTY CENT!) over the limit for a family. My partner is also in the part time fire service so he is only guarenteed a retainer of €8000 a year and the rest depends on calls.
We now have another baby with €170 comming in a week from his 2day a week job. The fire service only pay every quater so every 3 months and 1 4 month. Calls have been cut, wages have been cut and with USC and leveys after tax he gets roughly on a good quater €4800. But this changes every quater.
We are struggling to pay rent, baby costs, child costs and general living with bills e.g. gas, esb.
Recap - I earn nothing and we recieve no social welfare or benifits..2 children.
Can anyont tell me if we would be entitled to ANYTHING!!!
