Help! Washing machine door is stuck

Hi,

My mother's washing machine has broken and has the last load of clothes stuck inside it. Unfortunately the door is stuck and we want to take these out before we get the broken machine taken away.

She'd be really grateful for any suggestions or advice.
 
Have a look in the area around the filter outlet, there might be a manual release here. It's usually under a rectangular panel near the bottom of the front of the machine.

You could also search for the manual for your model online.

Our previous washing machine which was a top loader had a small key which came with the machine to open it in case of a problem. As circle says above if you get a copy of the manual you may well find the solution therein.
 
Thanks very much to both of you for your help. We opened up the filter and water came flooding out. Once we got the water out, the door opened fine.
