TWO WAY VAN GUARD have brought stuff in for me from Canada, I'd imagine they could help you out, they have brought cars in from the UK on trucks before as I have seen a couple of them.

out of interest did you go over to see the car or did you buy from a website? would be interested to know how this turns out for you as well.

long story but got to know a guy selling a mustang on ebay but was out bid, anyway he said he would keep on eye out for me and hey presto 3 months later he sourses a mint 1965 coupe, he called to see it, mailed me and gave me the green lite,i wired the $$, and he has it at his house now waiting for shipment, he also did work on the car for me and never charged me a dime...himself and his wife are coming over here next year on vacation so im going to return the favour...to be honest i woulnt buy a car from the net all the way from the U.S....u need some contact over there....

thanks anyway but i rang them and they only serve customers and commercial stuff and would not be able to do anything for a private nobody like me....cheers

Brady brothers the tyre/wheel specialists in Arklow have a few American classics. They might know someone who could import a car for you.I don't have a number for them but I'm sure they're in the phone book. It's worth a shot anyway.

You could get a container and ship it home on that. Costs approx $2000 door to door for a 20ft. You will need a way to load and unload the car though as the container comes on a truck or you (or the guy that bought it for you) could just drive it to their depot, they should have a loading dock.
