Help re: savings and to invest 10k

Hey all,

Im back again.

So I want to put 10k away but unsure where to put it

As previously posted, I have quite a lot of debt but my inheritance is due to me in the nxt couple of weeks and am working on clearing all my debt.

At the moment I put 70 eur a week to credit union ( 40 of which is paying off a loan but only 350 left on that)

and 45 a week to aib.

When I clear my debts I will have the 800 eur pm that I used to pay bill to use freely so obviously I will save te majority of this.

I want to do the best with my weekly savings and where to put the lodgement of 10k?

Any help would be great, Im clueless when it comes to this

Hi D4B,

You are generally better paying off your debt before you start saving.

You are most likely getting close to a zero return from the credit union. You should consider other options for saving.

As TSThomas points out Halifax have the highest rate for under 10,000 EUR. In addition, If you are saving on a regular basis then I suggest you check out the regular saver best buys thread.
