Help moving from contact to permanancy

Hi,
I don't know if this is the right forum but I really need some advice.

I've worked with my company for nearly 3 years as a contractor at a rate of 300 euro a day. So this amounted to 72,000 a year gross.

They have recently offered me permanancy at 60,000 a year gross, with 23 days paid leave (not included when I was a contractor), vhi plan B (full, also not included when I was a contractor).

I feel I've worked hard for this company for the last 3 years and I deserve some bit of a raise during this transition.

My question is, do people think these offers are equivalent? Is one still better than the other? Should I be asking for more? What would the savvy people on here have to say?

Thanks in advance. I'm just not really good with comparing apples and oranges.

The issue of whether you deserve a raise at this time is a different question to whether a 60K salary is the same as the daily rate you are on.

If you get 23 days paid holidays, you will have to work 227 days in the year, assuming no paid leave at Christmas.

(52*5) -23-10 (bank holidays) = 227

If you were getting 300 a day, you would get 68.1K for working 227 days.

Also, your employer now has to paid employers PRSI which on a salary of 60k is 10.75% = 6450

VHI is worth about 1.2K a year

Total cost to the employer = 60K +1220 + 6450 = 67670

So,to employ you as on a salary is costing 67670, compared to 68100
as a contractor.

I might have missed something, but the difference is minimal.
