Help-garden is a mess

Got fencing in today, was told specifically it would be done by hand, arrived home to find they had used a tractor. The site is 1/2 acre of landscaped gardens, a really mature garden. The lawn is destroyed. Its not mucky, but there are imprints of tractor tyres EVERYWHERE and the lawn is now uneven...there are humps and bumps everywhere.

How can this damage be repaired?? I got the fencing so I could enjoy the beautiful garden in privacy, not destroy the whole thing. I will be taking this up with the fencing guy, but he couldnt be contacted this evening.

Is it relatively easy to fix an uneven lawn like that?

I would withhold payment until he fixes the garden. If it is just lawn that is destroyed, then it would not be a too big of a job, and could be rolled at the end of march etc, if its trees flowers and shrubs, than that's a different matter.
