help! crack in wash hand basin

have got a crack in fairly new ceramic wash hand basin. the crack is in a small circle with a couple of hairline cracks running from it. any ideas on how to fix this? I'm assuiming I need to do some kind of bonding rather than just a cosmetic cover up. The basin is white.

Can you not get a new one on your house insurance?

Do you know if I would be able to claim to have a plumber do the replacement or would it just be for the sink itself?
