Hedgerow cutting cost/price

Hi There,

what is the usual hourly cost of hiring including vat a man with tractor and fuel and hedge cutting saw in the midlands area to cut a roadside hedge from a 10ft height to a 4ft height

Is 260 euro for 3 hours work too much ?

I would have thought it was around 35 euro an hour max ?

Do the local authorities not cut roadside hedges? Might be worth giving them a shout to enquire.

On a related issue there are certain times of the year when you shouldn't cut hedgerows - I imagine the next couple of months is prime nesting season for birds so you wouldn't want to cut them yet.

That's daylight robbery. Your €35 per hour would be closer to target.

Check it out, but I think its against the law to cut hedges after March 1st because of nesting birds
