I have to get fight to Johannesburg does anyone know the layout i am arriving in terminal 1 Heathrow for connecting flight,

No - but take a tip and collect your luggage from the 1st flight and re-check it onto your 2nd flight rather than having them send it on....

Who are you flying with?

British Airways, KLM and Qantas use Terminal 4 for long haul flights.

I can tell you it wont be terminal 2 or terminal 5.

Edit... it might be terminal 5, they have changed it around.

British airways is terminal 5 for johannesburg ( maybe it's not classed as long haul )

South african airways is terminal 1

Virgin is terminal 3

Everything is well signposted there so just keep your head and you'll find where you need to go.

Look at the BAA website for heathrow... the BAA staff are also very helpful when you come off the plane from Ireland in T1... and give yourself sufficient time.....

Would second this point. It is a busy place, but once you keep your head about you, you'll find the right way. Once you get out of Terminal 1 onto the walkway to Terminal 3 it is pretty straight forward.
