Hearth for kilgarvan stone surround

I have decided on a stone surround for the (matt black) stove for the living room. (Kilgarvan stone which is blue green in color)

I can't decide on what to choose for the hearth

I have samples of limestone and Valentia slate which are not so bad.
I think granite is too modern/polished to put a stove on!!!

Can anyone offer any advice please??? Thanks.
