I switched to a Laya plan a couple of years ago based on a recommendation by Snowby and I was happy with it. My policy is due for renewal before the end of the year, so I'm wondering if this is still the best plan for me.
As Snowby is, unfortunately, no longer active on the site, I'm considering using Total Health Cover to get their recommendations. Does anybody know how much this costs? I don't want to unnecessarily spend money if they end up recommending the plan I'm currently on.
I just found the cost on the site - it's €125. https://www.totalhealthcover.ie/fee-based_consultation_with_dermot_goode___total_health_cover
Hi Curlyfella, I haven't contacted them. Policy due for renewal on Dec 1, so I still have time.Did you contact Total health cover yet?
I enquired and it seems they could be helpful but they may recommend Irish life as they have a deal with them

with Laya at the min.

Yes basically, perhaps the plans quoted by the both brokers from Irish Life are actual better alternatives. But as you said, Irish Life may be the only insurer in the market who offer commission so therefore that is a a conflict of interest in itself when a broker ''advises'' you. What does "Laya at the min." mean?
Ah. Do you mean
"I am with Laya at present.
I called Cornmarket and another insurance group who both recommended me plans from Irish Life."
Brendan
No mention of that in their terms of business. In fact, it allows for them to charge a fee and also receive commission...I presume that they refund the fee if you opt for an Irish Life product through them?
This guy was indirectly recommended to me, but I have no direct experience.
