My daughter imported a car from the UK at end of January. A few days later in February she had car parked in Armagh with UK licence plates because there was a wrung screw in original plates & we hadn't managed to get the plates removed. She received a penalty notice for arrears of tax to Monaghan address where car is registered. She wrote back advising car had been imported The car had not been taxed here at that time. She has now received a reply stating the vehicle must be licensed & so the arrears amount must be paid within 14 days as they had checked & vechicle although registered had not been taxed here .Seems strange to me that arrears must be be paid to UK DVA.
