I am currently recieving jobseekers allowance.

I have been offered a part time job (starting at one day a week for now) which is obviously not enough to live on, do they just deduct the amount of wages I'll be getting so leaving me with the same amount I get now when I put the JS and the wages together?

i.e. I'll be earning approx. €80 so €196 minus €80 = €116 so will I be getting €116 JS? thus getting the same amount of money I am now, just working one day, or am I allowed to make any "profit"?

Thanks.

Not sure of the current rules now but my friend use to work sat and sun in the 80's while claiming - he lost one days SW as sunday wasn't included. He use to do well because Sundays were double time. So if it's still the same you lose one sixth SW.

So I am allowed to keep about €50? having a total of about €246 per week?

I'm not an expert in this area at all. There are some very good posters here on SW matters who will know more on the current sisuation but you'll have to wait until tomorrow.

as far as i know you will have to fill in a casual work form and post it in detailing the day you worked,i think you will lose about 30 euro out of your js ,good luck in your job i hope it turns full time for you
