Has the PT increased for 2017?

My PT x DD was always 18.75 up to Dec 2016. I received the new DD confirmation but it is now 20'58€. Is there a reason for this?

From 2015 onwards, local authorities can vary the basic LPT rate on residential properties in their administrative area. These rates can be increased or decreased by up to 15% (both rates must be adjusted by the same amount). This is referred to as the local adjustment factor.

Your local authority may have applied an increase for 2017.

Is this why there is so much talk of property prices going up in Dublin, then we all get to pay a share more in rural Ireland where you still cant sell a house. Thanks anyway for the explanation.

The above list, taken from revenue.ie, is slightly misleading: The text on the same webpage (link below) states....

9 local authorities have increased their rate compared to last year; Clare County Council, Cork City Council, Cork County Council, Galway County Council, Kildare County Council, Limerick City and County Council, Louth County Council, Monaghan County Council and Wexford County Council.

My own local authority is on this list, and the ready reckoner shows that the reduction which was applied in 2016 has been reversed. My LPT for 2017 is back to the standard rate.
