Has anyone been charged on their Eazy Pass account for parking in Tesco Dun Laoghair

My wife was complaining that she heard a bleep from her tag for toll bridge every time she entered & left the Tesco car park in Dun Laoghaire. Luckily I checked the Direct debit taken by Eazy Pass & found they had taken 44 Euro out for this in 1 month alone. Wife had paid as usual putting the ticket into machine to get barrier up. After 6 phone calls 2 e mails & over 90 minutes of busy time wasting I eventually got them to credit my account but refused a refund. They said that it wouldn't happen again but guess what it just happened again today. Is she alone with this problem or has it happened in other car parks or to other unfortunates like her ?

The car tags are being picked up by the parking system. It is an option on som eof them that you dont need to pay for the parking in traditional way, drive up to the barrier and it opens! How they determine the parking charge is beyond me. . .

Big Brother & all that.

How much were they charging? Was it cheaper than buying a ticket?

Seemed to be the same price but had no idea when she signed up for tolls that she could be charged for using the car park in Tesco. She had to take a ticket when she first went in so that barrier would go up. Then pay cash through the validation machine to get out. Wonder are there any other shopping centre car parks where this has happened ?

They recently sent out an email offering all toll only customers a free trial of their car park services. You were automatically connected and had to opt out. The email had instructions for using car parks, mainly do not take a ticket

I don't have the email any more but it was very clear.

Sounds like a useful service, but a poor implementation of the trial.

Neither the wife nor I ever got an e mail saying that we would be charged for parking in certain car parks if we didn't contact them to "opt out". Nor did anyone in Eazy Pass ever suggest this during the many calls I made in my efforts to get the matter sorted. This type of conduct should be prohibited by law but thank you Shesells for the information which makes me even more angry.

I got an email and a letter informing me of the trial. I opted out because I do not use car parks often.

Was it in the multi story? Its a wonder there isn't signs up stating about this.

The email listed all the car parks the scheme operates in. They're also listed here [broken link removed] I only wish I still had the email. Have you asked them to prove they sent it to you??

The easytrip website doesn't currently offer any clues about how to "opt in" for this service (which is a pity from my point of view, because I'm interested in signing up.)

I'm so fed up with Eazy Pass & how they treat their customers that I have closed both of my accounts. In future I will avoid using the West Link unless absolutely necessary & go back to paying cash at the other toll roads/bridges. I used to think that NTL were bad but never as bad as these cowboys. The Joe Duffy show "banged on" for days about Eazy Pass but things just seem to have got worse.

Been using them for a couple of years now without a single problem.

I have suffered for at least 7 years both on business & private accounts & can only say that I wish you "Good Luck". The charges for car parking was just the last straw.
