Hard Water and showers: Does Water Softener clear off deposits as well?

Hi, just wondering if you have a problem with hard water and your showers are already affected, i.e. the water is very weak coming out and you get a water treatment system to soften the water does this clear out your taps and showers and break down the build up as well?

From my understanding of water softners they do not clear off deposits.

We've had a water softener for a few months now, and the shower head has been cleared out. The deposits around the shower are very slowly disappearing.

Yes, they will flush out your system over time.
