Hello All,

A long time ago, I came along here and asked you lot to advise me on what I should do. I was in a situation where I owed money to a bank, and my guarantor (my dad) had to foot the bill. I had defaulted on my HP agreement and had to give back my car. I felt so awful because I thought it was the end to any financial instituition trusting me. You all advised that I should clear the debt, which back in the time I thought was pointless because I had a massive black mark on my name anyway.

Present Day:
After taking your advice I cleared my debts with the bank and Dad, and today I got my first mortgage, which I hand on heart thought would be something that would never happen in my life. My hubbie is a student, so it was me going solo, and I got great offers, from many different banks.

Thanks for all the help. And for anyone that reads and is in debt, it really is okay, you can get out and repair your name.

I was not here at the time but I am sure that 99% of the credit goes to you so take a bow.

Well done - good to hear some positive feedback from somebody who has regained control of their finances. That'll be €5,000 wired directly to my account now please.

JOKE!

Fair play.

If you want to 'give something back' (note that I don't expect you to), it might be useful to highlight how you went about getting back on track so some of our other members who find themselves in a similar situation may benefit from your experience.

Congratulations! Well done! Always good to hear a happy ending. Best of luck in the future.

Well done!
Credit to yourself.
It proves that some of the best advice is still available free.

Congratulations, give yourself a massive pat on the back!
Whilst you may have received good advice from AAM, it is clear that you implemented it and improved your financial position.
Great news, and best of luck in your new home.
